Getting settled

10.14.2019

I’ve been settling in to my new apartment. This has meant finding a place for everything essential, and putting everything else into storage. .
The wear and tear of leaving Boston is complicated for me. I lived there a long time, I did a lot of things there, and I still have a lot of friends there.
When I was a kid, I read “On The Road” by Jack Kerouac, and I wanted to move to San Francisco right away. Adventure. Fun. See some more of the world. But I stayed in Boston, and overall, I did fine; the computer business, the golden handcuffs, all that.
But over the years, a lot of the people I knew moved away.
I’ve been to a lot of other cities myself, including San Francisco. But somehow, I managed to stay in Boston.
For the last several weeks I’ve been going over my music, choosing new tunes to publish.
This week, I’ve been working on this website. I feel exposed, vulnerable – what dumb mistakes have I made, that I could have fixed with the DELETE key? Well, almost ready to publish.
