New Tune: When We Look Up

Not new, actually – I started writing it in 1977. We used to do it in the band then – great three-part vocal harmony with Bob Reitz and Nick Thorkelson.

I don’t know what got me in the mood to write the lyrics this way:

When we look up and wish on a star
We don’t thank God for being what we are
We’re searching among those little points of light
For the one true heart that will make it all right, all right, all right
But –

Music doesn’t do it
Even if you’re the star…

The music was fun, especially the zanked-out intro. But I’ve been playing it on the guitar for years – always heard horns – finally sat down and put a chart together.

Here’s the link: When We Look Up

And I’ll update the Songs page here soon.

Hope you like it. Thanks.
